Kisii town residents were on Thursday afternoon treated to a rare scene after a number of employees of Intersuff Internet Solutions roughed up their boss over delayed salaries.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident began when the boss arrived around noon and told the employees that he was not able to get money to pay their salaries, something that angered them.
“The employees who were more than ten claimed the boss have neglected them despite the fact that they have been making money for the company hence leading to their loss of patience,” said Edwin Abuga who witnessed the afternoon drama.
In an interview with one of the workers, Eric Ogembo, their boss Thadeus Momanyi has not paid them for the last two months despite the fact that they have been pushing for their rights.
“We all want to be paid our dues as we are sure the company has been making profits but the owner has not paid us for the last two months,” charged one worker at the firm only identified as Ogembo.
It took the intervention of other neighbouring office workers to calm down irate workers. It is not yet clear what discussion followed after the incident between the employer and the workers.
