"It sounds nonsensical. These are some of the silly things some petty people engage in as a country and we waste time on such stupid things," Matiangi said as quoted in a video

The CS said while addressing security officials at the Deputy commissioner's office in Kilifi South on Wednesday.

This follows harsh criticisms by a section of leaders from North Eastern region led by Mandera North MP Bahir Abdullah.

The legislator had faulted the move by the executive to move around schools with a contingent of fully armed police officers in schools and even in exam rooms.

This, he said, intimidates the candidates taking their exams thus making them panic.

However, Matiang'i insisted that the ongoing exams will be administered with 'military precision' to avoid cases of security lapse as witnessed in the past.

The Kenya Certificate of Primary Examinations (KCPE) exam has finally ended successfully with no case of insecurity having been witnessed except for transport challenges in Mandera county.

The transport hitches are as a result of the ongoing heavy rains in the region that rendered several roads impassable.
