Described as a mean politician when it comes to dishing 'handouts' and donations, Raila Odinga may have after all changes his ways.
For many years, the ODM leader has openly linked Harambees to plundering of public resources adding that the government has an obligation byo use right channels in helping deserving people.
Particularly, Deputy President William Ruto, who usually donated money in bags to social functions, has been Raila's prey for far too long.
In his functions, Ruto has often accused Raila of being too mean adding that he donates money to churches as a way of going to 'heaven'.
"They complain that we dish too much money into churches but I assure them, I give back what God blesses me with," he said.
And at Bondo AIC on Sunday, Raila, who was among chief guests, was pictured holding money 'Ruto style' in a function that former Vice President Moody Awori also attended.
Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo would later say that over Sh10 million were realised from the function.
"H.E Raila Amollo Odinga, H.E Mama Ida Odinga and the Rarieda MP Hon. Dr. Otiende Amollo among other dignitaries at ACK Bondo fundraiser which was presided over by H.E Moody Awuori the former Vice President. 10.6 million was raised."
It's rare to see Raila contributing in public events given his political ideologies.
It however remains unclear how much the former Prime Minister, who now works closely with President Uhuru Kenyatta, donated in the event.
