A 33-year-old woman has been arrested by police in Gilgil, Nakuru County in connection to the murder of her husband.
Confirming the arrest, Gilgil divisional police commander Emmanuel Opuru said the woman stabbed her 39-year-old husband following a disagreement.
Opuru said the woman who is currently in police custody used a kitchen knife to stab her husband in the chest during the Saturday evening incident.
“The couple differed over undisclosed reasons. The woman then stabbed the man in the chest with a kitchen knife and he died moments later. We are yet to establish what transpired,” said Opuru.
According to nation.co.ke, John Ali, a former councilor from the area said the couple has been having problems and engaging in fights on different occasions.
He said the two are known 'alcoholics' who fight at bars.
“The couple differed many times and sometimes their parents were called to mediate on several occasions. The two are also known for drinking alcohol which made them engage in fights,” he said.
