This comes amid revelations that President Uhuru Kenyatta is plotting to make changes, a decision that was arrived at during his meeting with leaders from Mt Kenya region at his Gicheha Farm in Nakuru on Tuesday.

But the Senator has warned that achieving the said replacements, where Uhuru is reportedly to install neutral members in key leadership positions, will not be easy, as the Ruto side had solid numbers in both houses.

"We have solid numbers in both Houses,” Cheruiyot, the staunch supporter of the DP told the People Daily when asked about the impending changes.

National Assembly Majority Whip Benjamin Washiali, another of the DP's allies and one of the targets, said that such a decision can only follow a resolution by the party's top organ, suggesting that it might be hard to achieve.

“We don’t know which party organ they will use to remove us,” Washiali told People Daily has established that he could lose his seat to Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe.

Others reportedly set to be clipped are Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen, whose seat could go to Kimani Wamatangi (Senate).

Irungu Kang'ata (Murang'a) could take over from Senate Majority Whip Susan Kihika.

This comes only days after Uhuru sacked former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri, who was also being seen as an ally of Ruto.
