The race for the 2022 general election is taking shape as politicians prepare to contest for seats of their choice.
The presidential election is the focus point in the 2022 polls as top politicians declare interest to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta.
President Kenyatta is serving his final term in office and he is expected to support his deputy, William Ruto as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) they allegedly agreed on in 2013.
DP Ruto's allies are already pushing for his presidency saying that president Kenyatta has to endorse him.
The deputy president's 2022 presidential bid has resulted to formation of 'Tanga Tanga' and 'Kitaeleweka' movements.
The Tanga Tanga movement is pushing for Ruto's presidency while Kitaeleweka is against his presidential bid.
In Ukambani, the song is the same as politicians allied to Ruto say that he is the right person to take over from president Kenyatta in 2022.
Here are three Kamba politicians pushing for Ruto's presidency and who are likely to campaign and seek for him Kamba votes in 2022 election.
1. Victor Munyaka
The Machakos Town MP won re-election on Jubilee Party ticket in the 2017 general election.
Munyaka is a close ally of Ruto and has been quoted saying that his bid for presidency in 2022 is unstoppable.
The Machakos Town MP is likely to contest for the governorship in 2022 as he pushes for Ruto's candidature.
2. Rachel Nyamai
The Kitui South MP is among Kamba politicians who won re-election in the 2017 election on a Jubilee Party ticket.
Nyamai is also advocating for Ruto's presidncy.
She is likely to campaign for Ruto in Ukambani when 2022 election comes.
There is speculation that Nyamai is eyeing to unseat Governor Charity Ngilu in 2022.
3. Nimrod Mbai
The Kitu East MP is a close ally of Ruto and is expected to push for his presidency in Ukambani in 2022.
Mbai is among Ruto's allies who have accused the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) of allegedly targeting him (Ruto) in the renewed war against graft.
The Kitui East MP further claims that certain forces are using war against graft to taint Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
