Self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) General Miguna Miguna has said that he will jet back into the country after September 4, 2018.
The deported lawyer took to Twitter to make the announcement.
He also launched a scathing attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta and Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, claiming that they had frustrated him since he took part in the opposition’s swearing in.
He said that Raila and Uhuru are behind the destruction of his passport, his house, abduction and torture.
"For the cowards with low self-esteem celebrating the fact that @UKenyatta and @RailaOdingadestroyed my valid Kenyan passport and my house, abducted, detained and tortured me before forcefully removing me, mark this in PERMANENT INK: I am coming back after September 4th. Viva!" he tweeted.
Miguna’s deportation elicited mixed reactions with activists calling for his return. Weeks down the line, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko proposed him for the post of the Deputy Governor.
The move was met with resistance from Jubilee top brass.
He recently shortlisted women for the post and said fronting Miguna was an error he regrets.
"I admit that I erred in nominating Miguna without consultation but I did it out of bitterness and anger. This time, however, I will appoint a deputy after consultations with the party are concluded," said Sonko.
