Just a day after a former county official Idris Mukhtar was shot right in the head, Director of Public Prosecution Nordin Hajji has finally had his say on the attempted assassination case.
In a Twitter update sent via the DPP's official page, Nordin directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to conduct speedy investigations to bring the culprits before the full force of the law.
"The DPP’s attention has been drawn to the shooting of Idris Aden Muktar by unknown gunmen, within Kileleshwa area. DPP has directed the @DCI_Kenya to immediately commence investigations to the circumstances that led to the shooting with a view of apprehending the culprits," reads the Tuesday update by the DPP.
Hajji's statement comes at a time that a family source alleged that Idris Mukhtar had been receiving threats from unknown individuals, a fact that is alleged to be also booked at a Garissa police station.
