This is what residents of Chamgiwadu village in Rongo, are now faced with, after one woman allegedly got married to two men.

The woman identified as Maurine Atieno has been married to Robert Ochieng, a farmer in Migori and are blessed with two children. Atieno lives in Kisumu where she sells fish.

In Kisumu, she met John Ochola and they started a relationship. Recently, she went back to her husband’s home in Migori accompanied by his boyfriend.

The three allegedly stayed together under one roof for two weeks, before residents raised an alarm.

Area chief David Onyango said that villagers raised concern, demanding for action from local leaders.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the woman and the second husband insisted that they must both stay in that homestead,” the chief told Citizen Digital.

The Chief said the woman and her two husbands were arrested after locals threatened to lynch the second husband.

However, the area chief says there is no legal basis to charge them, insisting that they are working on a mechanism to solve the issue amicably.
