Jowie is the key suspect in the murder of Monica Kimani who was killed in her Nairobi apartment.

has a wound on his left chest side where the prosecution said he shot himself in trying to commit suicide.

The suspect was at KNH on Monday for an operation but a conflict between the hospital and the prisons department saw the facility refuse to handle Jowie’s case.

KNH said the prisons authorities owe the hospital Sh31 million which must be paid in order to continue handling its cases.

The hospital’s Director of Clinical services Dr Peter Masinde said they can now only handle emergency cases from the prisons authorities.

“They have got a debt of Sh31 million, so we are treating their patients who are emergency cases only. They have promised to clear it, but we don’t know when,” Dr Matinde said.

The suspect’s lawyer said their client is at risk of losing his hand as he has never received any treatment.

He has reportedly been receiving only painkillers from the facility.
