Uhuru left Nairobi for Mombasa on Sunday, joining the huge number of holiday makers who are flooding the Coastal city for Christmas.

The President moved from coach to coach and listened to the travelers' views about the SGR train, interacted with the passengers, took selfies with them, cuddled children in the train and wished them a Merry Christmas and a happy 2019.

"I met and interacted with fellow commuters who shared their interesting experiences about the service. I am glad that the SGR train services have enhanced travel for wananchi between the two cities," said Kenyatta.

Mombasa has received many guests, a move Governor Ali Hassan Joho said is a boost to the county's tourism economy.

Joho welcomed Kenyans to Mombasa this holiday, saying security had been enhanced.
