ODM leader Raila Odinga has landed in Nyansiongo for Ndemo Nyagarama burial with leaders across the country also attending.
Mr. Ndemo is son to Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama and succumbed to acute meningitis in June at Nairobi Hospital.
His funeral was delayed for over a month to allow Governor Nyagarama jet back from US where he was undergoing treatment.
Odinga, whose party sponsored the county government, has been in South Africa where he attended Nelson Mandela Day in Eastern Cape.
An orginiser, George Momanyi said that Deputy President William Ruto cancelled his trip despite confirming attendance earlier on.
Some of the leaders present include Senators James Orengo, Otieno Kajwang, Sam Ongeri, Okong'o Mogeni, Charles Nyachae and Chief Justice David Maraga.
Others include Borabu MP Ben Momanyi, Shadrack Mose (Kitutu Masaba), Jerusha Momanyi (Nyamira County), Joash Nyamoko (North Mugirango) and Vincent Kemosi.
Council of Governors is represented by Josephat Nanok and Kisii County boss James Ongwae.
1:00pm: Local leaders take guests around among them Raila Odinga. Short prayers done as Raila heads to the main pavilion for main funeral programme.
1:05pm: Solicitor General Ken Ogeto arrives in style. Mourners applauds him as takes seat among the dignitaries. Charles Nyachae of East African court is also present.
1:10pm: Suspended County Secretary Erick Onchana, to surprise on many, seems to be the Mcee for the funeral. However, area MP Ben Momanyi will be in charge of introducing all political and high profile leaders present.
1:15pm: Dr. Salim Ndemo, brother to Kenya's first education minister Sagini Ndemo, praises the Gusii community for political tolerance. He asks the government to improve infrastructure in the region.
1:20pm County Speaker Moffat Teya and Majority Leader Duke Masira lead MCAs in condoling with Governor Nyagarama. They pledge support to the executive wing of the county government.

2:00pm: ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire regrets the unfortunate death of Ndemo, asks Kenyans to pray for the family. He backs Raila Odinga's handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta, slums critics.
2:30pm: Senator Okong'o Mogeni introduces all senators present. Among them James Orengo, Otieno Kajwang, Sam Ongeri. He lauds Raila Odinga's decision to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
2:40pm: Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri slams handshake critics. Tells them to join hands with Raila and Uhuru. Roots for transparency in devolved systems of Government.
2:45pm: Homa Bay senator Moses Kajwang lauds Governor Nyagarama for prudence in resources management. Says the governor has never been summoned by Senate PAC.

3:05pm: Kisii Governor James Ongwae takes over. He is representing CoG in the funeral.
3:12pm: Chief Justice David Maraga cheered by locals. Mourns Ndemo's death. Prays for the family to overcome hurdles.
3:15: Raila takes over. Mourns with the family of the governor. Lauds Nyagarama as one of staunch ODM supporter.
3:17pm: Raila thanks Gusii region for support throughout the years. Asks local leaders to work closely with government to realise development.
3:20pm: Raila recalls how governor Nyagarama has been undergoing treatment in US, asks residents to pray for him.
3:23pm: Raila insists that the war against graft will continue until the Lords of impunity are nabbed.
3:25pm: The ODM boss, in what appears to be a warning to DP Ruto, dismisses MPs hiding in tribe to defend graft. Says the war shall continue until the main suspect is arrested.
3:30pm: Raila backs handshake with Uhuru, says it would stabilize the country. Names corruption, peace, nepotism and tribalism as the main targets for the handshake.
