A new twist has been unveiled in the Moi Girls School Nairobi rape incident which happened last month.
According to independent investigations into this matter, it is alleged that a gang of lesbian students at the school might have molested their colleagues.
In this case, there was inconsistency in accounts of occurrences recorded from students (victims) who were interviewed.
The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) which carried out a different investigation made this revelation.
Both investigations from the KUPPET and the school’s own investigation highly suspected that the incidence could have been planned by colleague lesbian students.
“If you enter the school you have to pass two dormitories before getting to Elgon, the hostel where the girl was. Why would a rapist pass two hostels and specifically go to Elgon?” one of the officials in the investigation said.
The student who reported to have been raped claimed she woke up on another girl’s bed. However, the officials who carried out the investigation refuted claims that security cameras at the school were faulty. One of the officials stated that they were in good condition and captured no stranger walking into the girl’s dormitory.
“The other girls wanted to teach her a lesson for rejecting them. There is a crop of lesbians in the school known to many of the students,” the official said.
Investigations are still underway as DNA test results are yet to be completed from the samples collected from various students.
