A cow died after giving birth to sisal on Tuesday evening in Bokeira village in Kisii County.
Margaret Onsombi, the owner of the cow said she returned home from the farm and found the cow lying down in pain.
“I found my cow lying down in pain and helped it give birth only for sisal to come out instead of a calf,” she said.
Mrs Onsombi said she screamed for help and neighbors arrived to witness the incident.
A neighbor, Tom Ayienda said witchcraft is to blame for the occurrence since it is very rampant in the area.

“This is total witchcraft since cows are targeted by witches. We didn’t believe seeing the cow giving birth to sisal instead of a calf,” he said.
However, a veterinary officer Protus Otundo decanted the allegations sating the cow died due to digestive complications it developed.
