Mlolongo assistant county commissioner David Mukhung confirmed the incidents, adding that two people are currently hospitalised after sustaining serious injuries.

He observed that the robbers first raided an M-Pesa shop in Ngwata, where they shot three people.

One person reportedly died from the Ngwata incident.

"One died on the spot, while two women sustained injuries. One was shot on the shoulder, while the other on the chest near the heart," said Mukhung.

Shortly after the Ngwata incident, the robbers reportedly went to Kathangaita where they stole cash, and shot another person dead.

He noted that police have launched a manhunt for the gangsters,  and commenced investigations into the incidents.

The injured were rushed to a private hospital in the area, while the bodies of the two victims were taken to Shalom hospital.

This incident comes just two days after armed robbers attacked an M-Pesa shop at Nyambura stage, Mlolongo where they made away with Sh200,000.
