Kapseret lawmaker Oscar Sudi has maintained that the handshake is being used by Deputy President William Ruto’s political nemesis to bring him down.
Speaking during an interview on Emoo FM on Tuesday, Sudi pleaded with the Uasin Gishu communities to ignore the anti-Ruto politics and remain united.
“The handshake was earlier on perceived to be good but with the current trend, it has proved to be marred by dishonesty, deceit and not genuine,” he said.
The outspoken MP insisted that he does not recognize the handshake because some politicians are capitalizing on it to create room to execute their selfish interests.
He said that some politicians are using the handshake issue to attack DP Ruto’s camp and interfere with their objectives of delivering services to the people.
“Together with other leaders, we will continue to lobby for more projects that will benefit our people. We shall continue supporting social institutions like churches and also the vulnerable in our society and nobody will intimidate us from doing the good to our people,” Sudi noted.
The legislator also noted that the post-handshake effects have been geared towards destabilizing leaders allied to DP Ruto’s camp especially in the fight against graft.
“Those working in government are working in fear over the ongoing corruption purge. State workers should be given the freedom to discharge their duties without fear and intimidation”, he said.
Sudi further noted that the DP Ruto’s camp will only support the war on graft if it is not applied selectively and executed in the right manner and platform.
