The Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) George Kinoti has put rogue and lazy police officers on notice.
Kinoti says the national police service will no longer entertain rogue officers.
Speaking during the second day of the Lamu Service week at Ndau lsland on Tuesday, Kinoti said rogue officers will be sacked.
The DCI disclosed that the Internal Affairs Unit in collaboration with IPOA is probing several cases of rogue officers.
"Police officers who go against the established code of conduct will no longer be part of the service," Kinoti said.
He asked Kenyans to report cases of mistreatment or excessive force by the police.
The DCI also said that investigation into police brutality and extrajudicial killings especially at the Coast is going on.
Kinoti asked police officers to execute their duties professionally.
"We are keenly following reports of brutality against some officers and action will be taken once we complete investigations," he said.
Kinoti's sentiments were echoed by Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji who said the time when some police officers harassed innocent citizens is long gone.
The DPP said he has written to the Inspector General of Police (IG) to investigate cases of extrajudicial killings and police brutality.
Haji said his office will not sit and watch cases of extrajudicial killings allegedly by the police.
Coast region is said to be leading in cases of alleged extrajudicial killings by the police.
Human rights activists claim that some police officers in the service could be behind cases of extrajudicial killings.
