Until October 8th, Obado will have his time spent behind Industrial Area prison Block B as he awaits his bail application.

But unlike his fellow prisoners, Obado is said to have been accorded special privileges by authorities as a VIP state guest.

"Detained governor living in b2 block. Obado given comfortable bed, mattress; An officer assigned to attend to him. Visitors freely allowed to see him; Obado still in civilian clothes," said Citizen TV.

At the Milimani Law Courts on Friday, Obado was denied bail as prosecutors sought more time to consolidate the murder case with that of his two aides Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero.

His lawyer Cliff Ombeta insisted that the right to bail is inherent and that the court has no power to deny him.

"It is his right to be given bail. He's just a mere suspect and prosecution has not given tangible reasons why they want him locked," he stated.

The Migori county boss is accused of financing and plotting execution of his girlfriend Sharon Otieno early this month.

While the governor admits that he even impregnated the deceased, he has however denied murder charges.
