Karua, a former Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister turned 61 on Saturday, September 22, 2018.

The vocal politician took to her Twitter account to announce to the world that it was her birthday, a move that excited her hundreds of followers.

"On this day sixty-one year's ago I was born. I thank God for my life's journey so far and for more to come!" she wrote.

The post prompted Kenyans to shower 'The Iron Lady' with lots of love as they kept sending their happy birthday wishes fast and furious as it can be seen in her timeline.

Ciku Macheru said: "Happy birthday irony woman, I miss you in national politics."

"Happy birthday to a great woman!! Make our Woman President dream a reality- just wonder if you still consider. Baraka Tele!!!!" posted Edna Thiong'o.

Charles Mutuku wrote: " Happy birthday dear mama!"
