The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna called for the arrest of Duale over what he called his failure to name those involved in the smuggling of the killer sugar early enough.

Sifuna contended that Duale has the habit of waiting for things to worsen for him to release names.

"The Garissa MP should be arrested and write a statement behind bars. He waits until things get worse to say that he will release names. You saw what he did when our children were killed in Garissa University," Sifuna said.

Sifuna was speaking in Bungoma where he weighed in on the killer sugar saga.

Duale had promised on the floor of parliament to release the names of those involved the smuggling of illicit sugar into the country.

The sugar is said to have mercury which can cause cancer.
