Kiambu anti-drug crusader cum politician Gladys Chania now wants Garissa Township MP Aden Duale to resign.
Chania argued that Duale has failed in his leadership as the Leader of Majority in the National Assembly.
She claimed that the MP and his counterparts in the National Assembly are not serving the interests of Kenyans.
Speaking to journalists in Kiambu Town on Friday, Chania criticised Duale for leading the rejection of a report on contraband sugar that was tabled in Parliament on Thursday.
The activist said that as the Leader of Majority, Duale should be on the frontline in pushing for the truth in regards to the contraband sugar saga.
Chania said that instead of providing directions on the report, Duale led other MPs in shooting down the report.
She further claimed that some MPs have been compromised and are no longer fighting for the interests of Kenyans.
"It is shameful that some of our MPs have failed to guard the interests of Kenyans and are now pushing for their own selfish agenda," she said.
Chania claimed that a section of MPs is protecting top officials suspected to be behind the importation of the contraband sugar.
She said that Kenyans are slowly losing faith in Parliament after allegations of bribery emerged in the House.
On Thursday, MPs rejected the sugar report even as claims emerged that some legislators were allegedly bribed with Sh10,000 to reject the report.
