Former UN secretary-general Kofi Annan is dead.
Reports indicate that Annan died on Saturday morning while receiving treatment in Geneva Switzerland.
Annan was the first black African to serve as the UN secretary-general.
He later served as the UN special envoy for Syria, leading efforts to find a peaceful solution to the conflict.
Annan will be remembered by Kenyans for his role in ending the 2007/2008 post-election violence.
He led negotiations between ODM leader Raila Odinga and PNU's Mwai Kibaki following the disputed polls.
The talks resulted in the Grand Coalition government.
