Kisii County leadership has welcomed the Court-Annexed Mediation (CAM) program.

The program is an alternative dispute resolution whereby cases will be solved outside courts. 

Speaking at his office on Wednesday when he hosted a team from the Judiciary led by the Kisii High Court presiding judge Justice David Majanja, Kisii governor James Ongwae said the program shall help in ending the backlog of court cases. 

"My government is fully behind the Judiciary's plans to started a Court-Annexed Mediation (CAM) program in Kisii as an alternative dispute resolution method," he said.

The ODM allied governor assured that most locals whose cases have been struggling in courts will be sorted once the CAM becomes operational.

He pleaded with residents not to rush to court but, instead accept to solve minor cases out of the court. 

The county boss maintained that elected leaders from the county should help the Judiciary in pushing for the program which will benefit the people of Kisii County. 

"Politicians should join hands to ensure the programs commences for our people to have their cases solved so that they can venture into other constructive activities," said Ongwae. 

Joash Maangi, Kisii County Deputy Governor also attended the meeting.
