Veteran Nakuru politician Koigi wa Wamwere was upbeat on Wednesday, after a road in the county was named after him.
The Koigi wa Wamwere Road is off Solai Road to Murunyu.
The road heads to his home and also that of the late comic politician Kihika Kimani.
Koigi took to his Facebook page on Wednesday, to announce the good news to his followers.
The veteran politician urged the government to make sure that all the other heroes of the nation are also recognized.
"In saying thanks, I hope and pray that all Kenyan heroes and heroines will also be acknowledged and honored nationally and in their counties, for both our past and posterity that must never be forgotten. Thanks Governor Lee Kinyanjui," he posted.
A part from Koigi, the Nakuru County government also honoured Dixon Kihika Kimani.
Kihika served as a legislator during Mzee Daniel Moi's era.
A road at White House estate was named after him.
