Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe says he has single handedly humbled Deputy President William Ruto, who he claims has been chest thumping about his presidential chances.
The DP has been moving across the country as de facto Jubilee flag bearer in 2022, a move he seems to have dropped having insisted that he's ready to go for party primaries.
"I will contest in Jubilee party primaries. I will support whoever who wins fairly. The same case, I expect those who may lose to me to support my bid," he said at Sugoi.
Mr Murathe, a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta, has lately dismissed Ruto's candidature, insisting that he's unfit to take over from Uhuru.
But at Rarieda on Saturday, Murathe said Mr Ruto has changed attitude but insisted that he's still unfit to take over in 2022 from Uhuru.
"I can see that he has stopped chest thumping. He is even ready to go for nominations. We cannot allow someone to drag us the way he wants.
"For me, I will move to Supreme Court to seek advisory on 148 (5). When you serve as Deputy President, you should retire with your boss," he argued.
Mr Murathe had caused acrimony within the ruling party and his close ties with Mr Kenyatta has even made Ruto's allies to panic.
The DP has intensified campaigns to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta but has often accused Uhuru's handlers and opposition leader Raila Odinga of allegedly plotting against his down fall.
