Tough-talking Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha has confirmed that final year exams for students in primary schools and secondary schools across the country are ready.
The CS made the confirmation during an inspection of the roll-out of the controversial Competence Based Curriculum (CBC) and took time to advice students while at it.
He called on learners to take it easy.
"Our national examinations are ready. My advice to the learners, both in primary and secondary school, is that they should very kindly take care of the syllabus slowly as they understand it. Don't rush so that you revise; understand first before you revise and I think all shall be well," he said.
He went on to say that nothing in the papers would come out of the parametres of the syllabus.
"There is no reason for any apprehension because it is only what is within that syllabus and how it is applied that will only appear," he said.
Standard eight pupils and form four students are expected to sit their final year exams later this year.
The new CS, who took over from Ambassador Amina Mohamed, has been keen on cracking down on cheating in examinations, a vice that has plagued national examinations over the years.
