A section of Kisii residents have spoken following the tremendous win of a secondary school teacher Peter Mokaya Tabichi.
Beatrice Nyangweso a trader at Daraja Mbili congratulated Tabichi saying his win will help in building the name of the Gusii community.
"Tabichi's win is a challenge to us parents that we should invest more in our children through education. As a mother with kids in school I will ensure my children follow the footsteps of Tabichi," she said.
Immaculate Moraa appealed to school going children to be disciplined so that they can achieve what Tabichi has achieved.
"The teacher won because of discipline. Children who are in school whether in primary, secondary or college should be disciplined," noted Moraa.
Ezra Onsongo reiterated that youths intending to join colleges should consider pursuing education courses.
"Youths should stop being selective on the courses they want to take. Those claiming teaching courses are bad should drop the bad notion," said Onsongo.
Catholic Priest Lawrence Nyaanga challenged teachers to work hard so that one day they will win as Tabichi.
"Tabichi's win is for the whole country but, not his family," he stated.
