There have been numerous debates among men in Eldoret town on whether urban ladies are more romantic than those based in rural areas.
We sought to find out from some of the residents of the Uasin Gishu's capital to unfold this unending debate. Many of the residents who responded to our inquiry mentioned these four reasons as to why ladies in Eldoret are more romantic than their rural counterparts;
They are exposed
Many ladies who reside in an urban setting are more exposed. They are able to access television which instils knowledge in romance. For example, television has programmes such as soap operas.
Tenai, a resident of Langas estate in the outskirts of Eldoret town said he prefers to date an urban lady than those from villages.
"I once dated a village lady and the relationship was very boring till we broke up but when I got an urban lady my love affair has never been the same," he said adding that the urban lady knows how to care and love her man.
They are not conservative
The urban-based ladies are not tied to customs and traditions which restrict wives from freely interacting with their husbands. In Kalenjin tradition, for example, a woman cannot freely hug or embrace her man in public. This gives the urban ladies an upper hand in showing romance to their husbands.
Charles Kerich, a local farmer in Ndalat, Nandi county, says he usually spends all his money on the town ladies whenever he sells his farm produce.
"I have never experienced the kind of romance I received from Eldoret town twilight girls in my rural village and that is why I usually prefer to spend my farm earnings on them," stated Kerich amid a burst of laughter from his village friends.
They are good cooks
When it comes to kitchen chores, no one can ouster the urban ladies in meal preparations. They are good cooks and can easily make any meal of your choice.
"I cannot really understand how those town ladies make their food. It is so delicious that our men have resorted to taking meals in town before coming home in the evening," said Tecla, a mother of two.
From the residents' perspectives, it is clear that the urban ladies are so well into romance matters.
