Activist Boniface Mwangi has ridiculed President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto for settling on former Harambee Stars forward McDonald Mariga.
Speaking on Wednesday on the Pointblank show aired on KTN, the controversial activist said that the two leaders have taken Kenyans for fools for endorsing the governing Jubilee candidate.
He claimed that Mariga was an aging footballer who had lied about his age, and encouraged gambling.
"Uhuru Kenyatta na Ruto Wametubeba ujinga sana. They decided to get us an ageing footballer who lied about his age, never voted before, was promoting betting and gambling to come and lie to the people of Kibra. Very disrespectful, " the activist said.
President Uhuru endorsed Mariga a few weeks ago triggering a firestorm on social media platforms.
There is a section of Kenyans who have disparaged the soccer star's candidature in Kibra saying it is reversing the gains made through the handshake.
A number of Jubilee politicians led by former Starehe MP Maina Kamanda have thrown their weight behind the candidature of the ODM's candidate Imran Okoth.
The Kibra seat fell vacant after the death of former legislator Ken Okoth who succumbed to colorectal cancer.
