The two held talks at Raila Odinga's Capitol Hill offices, with details about the unique meeting remaining scanty at least for now. Kristina arrived at around noon.

An aide in Mr Odinga's Capitol Hill offices, Philip Nyamai posted: "H.E Raila Odinga with Kristina Pratt Kenyatta who paid courtesy call on him this morning."

Raila said: "I was pleased to receive Madam Kristina Pratt Kenyatta at my office this morning."

The meetings between Kenyatta's and Odinga's are nowdays synonymous, following Raila's decision to reconcile with President Uhuru Kenyatta in March 2018.

Both Raila and Uhuru had fiercely contested for polls in 2013 and 2017, with Mr Odinga crying foul of alleged rigging in two occasions.

After the Handshake, Mr Odinga was first to publicly meet Uhuru's uncle, George Muhoho, who is believed to be the force behind the handshake.

In January this year, Uhuru's younger brother Muhoho Kenyatta visited Odinga's Bondo home, two weeks after Uhuru's historic visit to the region.

“This is the first event of its kind that we are hosting outside Bondo. We want people to turn up for this ceremony,” said Mr Oginga.

And Wednesday's courtesy meeting by Kristina, another force in Kenyatta family, could further create political anxiety given that details of such meetings remain scanty.

Ms Pratt is known to be one of Uhuru's advisors. Mr Odinga has been frequenting State House, in what analyst view as preparations to succeed President Uhuru.
