In a letter issued on Tuesday, Noordin Haji says a whistle blower had pointed out specific issues that needs address.

"The Director of Prosecutions has received reports from a whistle blower  and the media touching on various issues  relating to Management of Public funds at the Judiciary.

"Upon receipt of the reports, the DPP consulted with Chief Justice who raised similar concerns. Consequently, the DPP has ordered investigations to the same," read the letter.

A fortnight ago, Chief Justice David Maraga openly complained about the department's under-funding in 2018/19 budget, a matter that attracted the attention of DP William Ruto.

In the budget, only Sh50 million had been st aside for development, a move that irked resistance from the third arm of the government.

And the corruption claims could further sabotage Maraga's request given that the department has been on spot for allegedly swindling funds meant for the public service delivery.

The DCI and EACC will now institute probe in the specific allegations before recommending for prosecutions in few months time.
