Wajir Women Representative Fatuma Gedi has revealed that she lost two relatives in the Tuesday Dusit D2 terror attack at 14 Riverside in Nairobi.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Gedi said that two young men from Wajir County, who are her relatives, died in the Dusit terror attack.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I report the death of two young men from Wajir County killed today at Dusit Hotel. Feysal Rashi Haji and Abdlala Sheikh Mohamed Dahir are no more”, Gedi tweeted on Tuesday.

The vocal Wajir MP added, “We will come out of this cowardly act stronger and more united as a nation.”

Gedi said that Islam or other religions cannot be blamed for the cowardly attack.

She stated that terrorism is an enemy that must be fought by all means.

The MP called on Kenyans to preach unity and shun people preaching propaganda.

Six terrorists stormed Dusit D2 hotel on Tuesday afternoon and started shooting as security agencies swiftly moved in to battle with the armed gunmen.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday confirmed that the six gunmen behind the attack have been killed.

In his address to Kenyans, the president also said that 14 people lost their lives and that rescue operation has been completed.

President Kenyatta hailed security agencies for swift and quick response to the attack, noting that over 700 people who evacuated to safety.

The president urged Kenyans to remain calm and vigilant, noting that their safety is guaranteed.
