Speaking in Kitui county on Wednesday, Odinga said they decided to lock out the two because both Kalonzo and Ruto have an eye for the 2022 presidential ticket.

"I said I did not want to talk to those people who want to talk about 2022. Uhuru said he would not come with DP Ruto so also asked if I can also come without Kalonzo," said Odinga.

Odinga also talked on how he had planned to go it all the way in his bid to challenge President Uhuru Kenyatta's win by burning down all his portraits and collecting revenue from pro-NASA counties, but on second thought he so the moves he was planning may land the nation in civil war.

However, Kalonzo Musyoka who was also present at the event during the official opening of the Kitui Villa steered away from the politics of the handshake.

Kitui Villa is an investment in the counties by a Kenyan based in the diaspora.
