After presiding over funds drive in Mfangano Island in Homa Bay county on Saturday, Siaya Senator James Orengo was on Sunday in Ndhiwa, the same county, for a similar function.
He led a host of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders from Nyanza region for another fundraiser to fund the construction of a girls dormitory at St Mary's Wachara Secondary School.
Orengo stressed on the need for everyone to embrace and promote education, terming it the key to the future.
"Education is the key to unlock the golden door for our future generation. In honour of all mothers around the world on this mothers' day, I presided over a fundraiser in St Mary's Wachara Secondary School in Ndiwa constituency for the construction not a girls' dormitory," he wrote on Facebook.
He was accompanied by area Senator Moses Kajwang, Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo, his Gem counterpart Elisha Odhiambo and host MP Martin Owino.
On Saturday, Orengo presided over a fundraiser for the construction of a boys' dormitory and establishment of a water system at Wakula Mixed Secondary School.
Present leaders included ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo Mabona and ODM leader and opposition boss Raila Odinga's aide Silas Jakakimba.
In the past ODM has been criticizing Deputy President William Ruto for presiding over numerous harambees.
