Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua is among top politicians in the country who are seeking to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in the much awaited 2022 general election.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader argues that he has what it takes to become the succeed President Kenyatta.
According to Mutua, it is time for Kenyans to elect young leaders who will champion the country’s interests.
Mutua says his main focus if he wins the presidency in 2022 will be to fight poverty, tribalism, corruption and improving the economy.
As Mutua prepares to sale his manifesto to Kenyans, he needs massive support in order to ascend to power in the 2022 election.
Here are politicians the Machakos Governor must consider seeking their blessings if he wants to win the presidency in 2022:
1. Kalonzo Musyoka
The former Vice President is considered the Ukambani political kingpin.
Kalonzo is popular in Ukambani owing to his experience and long service in government.
The Wiper leader can easily make Mutua president if he okays his 2022 bid. Unfortunately, Kalonzo is also eyeing the presidential seat in the 2022 election.
2. Raila Odinga
The opposition leader commands a huge following in the country.
He (Raila) is described as the ‘enigma’ of Kenyan politics.
Despite unsuccessfully vying for the presidential seat four times, Raila has remained popular and vibrant.
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader can help governor Mutua ascend to power in 2022 by marshaling support for him.
3. President Uhuru Kenyatta
He is serving his second and final term in office.
Governor Mutua can easily win the presidency in 2022 if he seeks President Kenyatta’s endorsement.
Last week during an interview on Jeff Koinange Live, the Machakos Governor hinted on working with like-minded politicians in 2022.
There has been speculation that Governor Mutua could partner with Deputy President William Ruto in 2022.
