Siaya Senator James Orengo's remarks during an interview on Citizen TV on Tuesday have not augured well with lawyer Miguna Miguna.
Moments after the interview, Miguna faulted Orengo for lying to Kenyans.
He reminded him that the circumstances surrounding his deportation are different from what other Kenyans have experienced before.
Orengo has said that Miguna would have landed back into the country but his "yapping" nature has made it difficult.
“There are a lot of people who have been locked out of this country and managed to come back. If he (Miguna Miguna) really wanted to come back into the country, he would have managed to come back, “ he had said during the interview.
In a quick rejoinder, Miguna cited the deportation of Koigi Wamwere in which he noted that his passports were not destroyed.
“Orengo knows that Koigi Wamwere's passport was not seized and destroyed. Koigi's citizenship was not defiled and Koigi was never prevented from entering Kenya. Orengo was with me at the JKIA when heavily armed @PoliceKE prevented me from entering. This is disgraceful, Orengo,” he said.
He also reminded him that he was among the advocates in his case and he knows the truth of the matter.
“Orengo was one of my advocates who obtained multiple court orders directing my unconditional release from detention and re-entry into Kenya - orders that continue to be disobeyed by Uhuru Kenyatta. Koigi was neither physically forced into exile nor prevented from return,” he said.
