Most Machakos residents have embraced the use of condoms due to the high rate of prostitution in the county especially in towns along the Nairobi-Mombasa road.
Condoms are known to prevent different Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).
However, the condoms do not prevent all the STIs.

1. Pubic Lice/Crabs
Lice can make life hard. They are tiny in size hence making them difficult to see. They normally hide in pubic hair. When you engage in sex, the lice can find their way into your pubic region hence causing you discomfort.
2. Syphilis
Syphilis is a common bacterial infection. It affects both men and women. It can be transmitted when you engage in sex with someone who is infected. Oral sex is yet another way you can get the disease.
3. Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
Many people do not that the diseases but it is very dangerous. The disease can be passed through skin to skin contact. These are areas where the condom does not reach hence putting you at risk of suffering from the disease.
4. Herpes
Do you know you can suffer from Genital herpes? Machakos residents should know that the disease can be very detrimental. The disease can be transmitted through kissing and other forms of contact.
