A section of ODM rebels in Coast on Saturday met over the region's unity.
The leaders who now support Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid, include Coast Parliamentary Group (CPG) chairperson who is also Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori, his Deputy, Galole MP Said Hiribae, and Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo (Wiper).
Others were Jomvu MP Badi Twalib Bady, Kaloleni MP Peter Katana, Mshenga Vuyaa Ruga famously known as Mvua Ya Mawe among others.
The leaders met at a fundraiser courtesy of Matuga MP Kassim Sawa Tandaza who also supports Ruto, in Matuga Constituency.
While calling for the region to rally behind Ruto, the MPs emphasized on unity of purpose which will see Coast region benefit like other parts of Kenya.
According to them, Coast should stay united politically by supporting Ruto who they said will be Kenya's president in 2022.
The move comes after the leaders attacked Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho on Friday, accusing him of imposing himself to the Coast residents.
Joho seeks to vie for presidency in 2022 as well.
