Deputy President William Ruto has renewed his attack on ODM leader Raila Odinga accusing him of dishonesty, one year after the famous handshake that cooled the country's political temperatures.
While speaking during a fundraiser in Kilifi County on Saturday, Dr. Ruto came to the defense of embattled Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa who was expelled by the ODM party a fortnight ago.
According to the DP, Jumwa does not need any leader's permission to interact with him, insisting that ODM's move to expel the lawmaker was not done in good faith.
“It is shameful for a party leader to convene a whole National Executive Council to plan how to expel a woman. Men with their beards sitting to discuss a woman is shameful. It is not acceptable in this 21st century,” he said.
Dr. Ruto further accused the former Prime Minister of trying to wreck Jubilee Party and harassing other politicians using arbitrary expulsions from his party.
"You cannot unite Kenyans by expelling Aisha Jumwa from the party for her development relationship with the deputy president of the republic of Kenya," he added.
On his part, Lunga Lunga MP Khatib Mwashetani said that the people of Malindi will re-elect Jumwa in case of a by-election.
