However, the county boss feels there is more to be done to end the vice once and for all.

In an opinion piece, the second term county boss highlights things Uhuru must do in order to ensure public resources are protected from looters.

He notes that Uhuru must be prepared to deal with his friends in government if he means well for this nation.

Kibwana argues that probing individuals is not enough to end corruption unless the president means what he says.

The governor also highlights some of the biggest scams including Goldenberg, Anglo Leasing scandal, Triton Oil scams of 2009, Navy ships saga, the Grand Regency Hotel rip-off, and the maize scandal.

He talks about countries such as Rwanda and Botswana where the fight against corruption was won after different measures were put in place by the Presidents and others leaders in the government.

"The President must sustain the political will exhibited so far. The legal institutions charged with fighting the sleaze - such as prosecutors and judicial institutions - must be independent, objective and non-political,” he says in part.

Kibwana's sentiments come at a time when Uhuru has maintained that he will not relent in the fight to make the nation corruption free before the end of his term in office.
