A section of leaders from Garissa County have expressed shock over how Deputy Governor Abdi Dagane made allegations on how the county operations are being conducted.
The County MCAs said it was wrong for Dagane to take his frustrations on Facebook claiming that he was being sidelined in making key decisions.
Holugho MCA Adow Mohamed said posting such issues on social media will not solve anything instead the deputy governor should use other means to have his issues addressed.
“We are shocked by the turn of events and even more so the manner in which he decided to express his frustrations. As a mature leader you try to consult widely before resulting in what the deputy governor did,” said Mohammed as quoted by Citizen.
Speaking to the press in Garissa town, Masalani MCA Abubakar Shide distanced the Samawadal community from Dagane’s statement terming it as personal.
“On the same strength, we want to express our unwavering support for governor Ali Korane and his administration. We are happy with the way he is running the affairs of the county and at no given time have we felt isolated,” said Shide.
Also present during the press briefing included Sangailu MCA Abddullahi Omar and Ijara MCA Irshad Holowle.
Dagane on Tuesday through his Facebook account had accused Governor Ali Korane of locking him out of key decision makers in the running of county affairs.
“Am forced to pen down this statement after enduring for more than 22 Months with a government that I am part of but with less authority as agreed in the coalition. As a principal assistant and the most senior county official from the Samawadal community, I would not bargain with anybody for the rights of my people and the programs that they're entitled to,” posted Dagane on Facebook.
