Former Nacada boss John Mututho has called on religious leaders to lead the war against drug use.
Speaking on Monday at his Jomec Rehabilitation Centre in Pipeline Nakuru, when he was paid a visit by the KDF Cadets in their ongoing KDF week service to the community, Mututho said fighting drug addiction among youths is a collective responsibility.
The ex-Naivasha MP said church leaders should take up a cardinal role in the fight.
“My appeal is to all the religious leaders and other organizations to emulate the KDF academy in serving the society. Let us all help the society out of the drug addiction menace,” said Mututho.
Addressing media, Major General George Owino, who is the Commandant of the Kenya Military Academy, said service to the community is part of the training they offer to cadets.
“The Kenya Military academy trains men and women to become soldiers and in the course of the training we also ensure service to the community which also builds their character,” Owino said.
