The music is sweet due to its nique blend of instruments and lyrics. The rhythm will make you dance and it's very attractive how they mix both bass, rhythm, and lead guitars plus the drums.

There are a few artists who set the pace and base for the music and created a suitable environment, for now, popular and upcoming artists.

They made the kamba benga music popular around the country.

Here are the kamba benga legends and bands which made kamba benga popular but are now deceased.

1. Kimangu boys Band

This was led by the late Charles Musyoki Kikumbi popularly known as "Kijana". He was born in April 1970 in Kimangu area in Yatta sub-county, Machakos.

He attended Kimangu Primary School.

His songs include "Kadogo, Anita, Marritta, Asante Lesoi, Joyce Nduku" among others.

His record has never been beaten. He died on July 7, 2000.

2.Katitu boys band.

The band was led by the late Kakai Kilonzo.  He sang songs like "Heshimu wazazi, Stella nimefungwa Jela" among others.

3. Kilimambogo Brothers 

It was led by Peter Muambi. He sang songs like "wendo wa December, Kavindu" and many more.

4. Kalambya boys band of peter Mutaiti.

The legends who are still alive and kicking include Dick Mulwa of Ngoleni boys band and Bosco Mulwa one-man guitar.

Today, the Kamba benga leading artists include Ken wa Maria, Maima, Katombi, Vuusya Uungu, Kativui, Katanga Lazima among others.
