Pupils at Bisabe primary school in Bobasi constituency in Kisii County lost their belongings after fire razed down their dormitory to ashes on Sunday night.
A security guard at the school Protus Onyoni said the fire broke at 10.00 PM when learners were in class for evening studies.
"No pupil was injured by the inferno since the fire broke while the pupils were in class for evening classes," said Onyoni.
Onyoni said efforts by locals to put off the fire didn't bore fruits.
"Locals surrounding the school to tried to contain the fire in vain since strong winds made the fire flames to spread quickly," he added.
David Nyabicha a teacher said nothing was salvaged.
"Pupils lost everything in the inferno. I'm appealing to well-wishers to help the kids and the school to build a new dormitory," he noted.
Pius Ngoma an education official said the fire was as a result of electricity hitch.
"The fire was caused by an electric fault. It is good we didn't lose any life from the inferno," stated Ngoma.
Ngoma argued that parents of the affected kids should move with speed to buy new school uniforms and learning materials for learning to continue.
