Speaking at separate functions on Saturday, both leaders urged Uhuru not to relent in ridding the nation of corruption.

Speaking in Wajir county, Raila said that he has a deal with Uhuru dictating that the menace must be completely slain.

He fired shots at Deputy President William Ruto who is opposed to the campaign, asking him to keep off the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and let it do its job.

“We have agreed that no one involved in graft should be let off the hook. They should pay for their sins. We should not allow institutions with the role of dealing with graft to be vilified for doing their work, we must resist it,” the former Prime Minister was quoted by the Standard.

Speaking in Chebonei, Bomet County, Moi who is considered Ruto's main rival in Rift Valley region bashed the DP for allegedly deploying his rivals to attack the president, in a bid to stall the purge.

He also took issue with Ruto and team for claiming that the fight is targeting a single community, the Kalenjin in this context.

He added that himself and his allies will not condone such narratives that are bringing out the entire community as evil.

"The integrity of the community should be guarded and nobody should be allowed to taint it,” said the lawmaker.
