This is after his Japanese side Keshiwa Reysol was relegated from the Japanese national league, known as the J-League.

Olunga’s team was relegated on Saturday, despite registering a massive 3-0 win over Cerezo Osaka in the last game of the season.

Olunga did not feature in the match against Cerezo. Kashiwa Reysol was relegated after other relegation candidates Nagoya beat Hiroshima 2-1 to reach 40 points to survive.

Olunga’s side ends the season at position 17 in the 18-team table with 36 points after 33 matches.

The team was relegated alongside bottom-placed side V-Varen Nagasaki. The two teams will now feature in the second tier J-League Division 2 next season.

The Kenyan Striker joined Reysol in August this year from Chinese side Guangzhou Zhicheng. Earlier, he played for Girona FC in Spain on loan from the Chinese Super League side.

The 24-year-old previously played for Tusker FC, Thika United and Gor Mahia in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) and IF Djurgårdens in Sweden.

Olunga has played 32 matches and scored 14 goals for Harambee Stars since 2015.
