An elected MP, who hails from Kisii County and who has been said to be eyeing the Kisii County gubernatorial seat in 2022 has intensified campaigns.
Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati has been traversing the county to woe electorates ahead of the 2022 general elections.
The vocal lawmaker insisted that Kisii residents need to elect an energetic government in 2022 who will be at the front line championing for development.
"2022 is not far from us and there is a need for residents to get used to the next Governor. I am appealing to the electorates not to elect someone because of his wealth but, elect someone with good development ideas," he stated.
The ODM allied MP insisted that he is not scared facing off with his opponents in the ballot.
He assured that he will move across the county to get the priorities of the electorates which the current governor has not implemented.
"Our people need to empowered to start small businesses so that they don't depend on handouts from politicians. Public funds should be utilized well to ensure development projects such as roads are completed timely," he added.
Arati who doubles as the Gusii community spokesperson reiterated the need for elected leaders from the Gusii community to embrace unity for the sake of development in the region.
"Community leaders must speak in one voice so that our people can get desired development," he stated.
