The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party remains strong and one of the strongest political blocks in the nation, party Director of Communications Philip Etale has said.
In a tweet Thursday, Etale added that ODM is the strongest political formation in the nation, as far as data from the registrar if political parties is concerned.
He claimed that the party leads all the rest in matters compliance, according to the registrar, and is also clean in audits on the expenditure of funds allocated by the state.
He said that the opposition boss Raila Odinga-led side has been cleared by the Auditor General's office, and leads as the others struggle to comply with the law.
"ODM remains the biggest and strongest party in Kenya. Records at the Registrar of Political Parties show that the ODM party leads the rest in compliance.
The Auditor General's report is very positive on ODM. Other parties just struggle to comply and fit in the provisions of the law," said Etale.
However, his remarks about the party's strength come only a week after it suffered double defeat in Embakasi South and Ugenya parliamentary by-elections which were held last Friday.
The losses, especially in Ugenya which falls under Raila's Siaya county bedrock, has raised questions on the party's grip in Luo Nyanza, leave alone other parts of the country.
