ODM leader Raila Odinga has single handedly picked his wife Ida Odinga as the person behind his several successes throughout his life.
Besides Mama Ida, Odinga attributed his success to God, whom he says has seen him walk on a tight rope especially in the political field.
"Its an honour to be conferred with the Honorary Degree, Doctor of Sciences (Honoris Causa) by the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology. We thank the Lord for seeing me through thus far. #JOOUSTGraduation."

The couple married over 37 years ago and Ida is credited for standing with Raila Odinga during his difficult moment in life at Kamiti prison and Nyayo detention center.
Throughout the time, Mrs Odinga, then a teacher at Kenya High, was forced to early retirement due to Raila's rebellion waged against retired president Daniel Moi's regime.

Mr Odinga was honored along with President Uhuru Kenyatta at a function that was attended by thousands of people on Friday in a region that has always been his political bedrock for years.
Present in the function were top government officials led by ministers Amina Mohammed (Education) and Dr Fred Matiang'i of Internal Security.
