Kenyans online were not surprised after a house that was built as a gift to a Nakuru family was handed over to a different family.
This was after the first family rejected it claiming it is substandard.
The two bedroomed house in Bahati, Nakuru North, was meant for the family of Dennis Ngaruiya as a gift from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Ngaruiya, who is currently in Form Four, was gifted the house after he presented a poem in 2014 before the President during the Kenya Defence Forces Day celebrations at 3KR barracks in Lanet leaving Uhuru in stitches.
Ngaruiya’s mother, Damaris Wambui, last week rejected the house saying it was sub-standard and not worthy of a gift from the President.
Wambui, together with her son, live in a rented mud-walled house in Lanet about four kilometres away from the house she rejected.
Kenyans online were happy after the house was given to another poor family residing within the same constituency.
Charles Macharia, the new owner of the house who has three disabled children, was given the house on Sunday morning.
Kenyans online questioned why Wambui rejected the house and thanked the State for giving the property to a more deserving family that would appreciate the free gift.
